Turboform P paraformaldehyde prills contain approximately 90% formaldehyde in the form of a white granular material. Turboform P is designed to give consistently high yields of formaldehyde gas for fumication purposes when used in conjunction with gas generators but can also be used in livestock houses with bedding in-situ if necessary.
Indications
The fumigation of livestock accommodation, incubators, egg rooms, hatcheries or any enclosed area that requires terminal disinfection eg. Vehicles. Formaldehyde gas is an extremely efficient means of disinfection of livestock accommodation because a gaseous agent is all invasive. Turboform P is non corrosive when used as directed and does not require the use of large volumes of water. Turboform P is often used as a follow up to liquid terminal disinfectants in intensive disinfection programs.
Turboform P will destroy bacteria, viruses, fungi (being particularly effective against aspergillus spp) as well as insect infestations.
Utilisation
Turboform P fumigation should be conducted once the building has been thoroughly cleaned. The fumigation process is most effective in humid conditions and at ambient temperatures in excess of 15°C. All windows, doors and ventilators should be closed during the procedure.
Turboform P prills are designed specifically for use with formaldehyde gas generators. When fumigating large volumes, generators should be positioned no more than 30m apart. Charge fumigators to give a dose rate of 1kg Turboform P per 300 m³ space for buildings and 10g per m³ for use in incubators. Set generator thermostats to 220º (approx. 425º F) and allow 20 minutes per 500g Turboform P utilised. These settings will generally ensure that effective concentrations are reached quickly and maintained constantly until the Turboform P prills are completely exhausted.
Allow at least 3 hours for the fumigation process to be completed, then open doors and windows and ventilate with extractors for at least another 3 hours to ensure that the gas has been fully dissipated before entering the body of the building.
For the sanitisation of accommodation with bedding in situ (cow stalls and sheep pens) animals should be removed and 15g Turboform P applied per m² of bedding or litter and mixed thoroughly. The process should be repeated every 7 days for the best results.
